A first look at adding shade and greenery to the community — starting with the road and the grass.
7214 N 6th Way, Phoenix, AZ · Quinta Verde HOA
Quinta Verde is a 20-home community, and right now the road through it doesn't have much shade or greenery to speak of. We looked at two things that would move the needle fastest: getting shade trees established along the road, and fixing the thin, stressed grass that's struggling under current conditions.
This is phase one. There's a lot more we can do across the community after this — this proposal is just meant to get the first, most visible piece moving.
Chinese Elm trees planted along both sides of the road running through the community — roughly 25 trees total.
A tall fescue and winter rye seed mix that holds up under the increasing shade from the new trees and through most of the Phoenix summer — guidance we'd hand off to your landscaping crew to run with.
The "after" images are AI-generated visualizations of mature Chinese Elm canopy in these spots — meant to give a sense of the shade and greenery this adds, not an exact rendering.
Chinese Elm is one of the most reliable shade trees for Phoenix streets, and it's a common choice for exactly this kind of application — a road that needs shade without the root or maintenance headaches some other fast-growing trees bring.
The road already gets some shade, and the new Chinese Elms will add more of it over time. Tall fescue is built for that — it handles shade far better than a standard Bermuda lawn and holds up through most of the Phoenix summer instead of going dormant and brown.
Mixing in winter rye keeps things green through the cooler months while the fescue establishes underneath it.
This falls in the same fall window as the tree planting, which also happens to be the right timing for overseeding. We'd advise on the mix, rates, and timing — your landscaping crew would handle the actual seeding.
This is a rough number to give the board a sense of scale for this piece. We'd nail down exact placement and final count once we walk the road together.
If this direction sounds right to the board, let's set up a time to walk the road together, finalize tree placement, and talk through the grass plan and timing for this fall.
